Biography
I teach to instill confidence in others. I want my students to believe in their own voice, to provide the same scope of empowering feelings that singing music has provided to me. I want my students to feel secure in their abilities, and I want them to know that they 're able to take on anything musically.
Singing has given me a confidence I could have only dreamt of, and gifted me with a strong sense of self. It fuels my determination, and soulfully inspires me daily.
At the age of three after seeing my first Broadway show, Beauty and the Beast, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wanted to sing, to perform, to create magnificent characters, making them come alive.
As I grew up that passion became part of my identity. However growing up with a stutter and desiring to be a singer seemed like an impossible dream. And yet, somehow I knew so deeply what I wanted, and I believed nothing would stand in the way of achieving the goal of being a singer.
Now as a trained artist, with a Vocal Performance Masters in Music, and an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy, singing and teaching are consistently my creative outlet. They define a major element of how I engage in the world, and most importantly they've allowed me to overcome a majority of my speech challenges, to be free and comfortable with my own voice!
